Yes. It was THAT good.
The conditions: a rainy, cold Sunday. A friend and I were hungry, so we decided to grab a bite to eat in a nearby restaurant that served vegetarian fare… but it was closed. So, we headed deeper into the town of Benimaclet, which has some incredible restaurants. However, since this is Spain, not everything is open on Sundays, much less Sunday afternoons.
We peeked into a restaurant and saw some other friends sitting at a table enjoying their meal. When they saw us, they waved us over and suddenly, we had a party. Not an easy task for a restaurant that doesn’t even have a sign outside. Today, the restaurant was only serving the menú, which is a first course, second course, dessert, coffee, and a drink. However, we cajoled the kitchen into making something that was not totally meat-based. This place is that small, and the environment is that friendly.
Here was the result, along with some bread and rosemary-flavored cheese. Picture me, totally satisfied. Admit it. You’re jealous.
And honestly, I was so hungry that the bread and cheese did not make to the point of taking a picture. It went straight into the happy place that was my mouth.
